Environmental Policy

Environmental Policy
Purple Market Research Ltd recognizes the impact of its operations on both the local and global environment. Our environmental policy states in broad terms our most important environmental commitments.
We recognize and understand the importance of protecting the environment and promoting best practice and continually look at ways to improve our environmental performance. We make sure that all staff are aware of the environmental implications of office activities.
We strive to achieve the following goals:
- Minimise the amount of waste generated by actively limiting the amount of printing of documents where possible We seek to use items that come from renewable sources
- Re-use and recycle whenever possible, notably paper and ink cartridges
- Ensure the safe disposal of office waste
- Minimising the use of a hard copy filing system by actively encouraging electronic document storage to reduce paper storage
- We encourage staff to reduce carbon emissions by cycling, walking or using public transport rather than driving
- It is our policy to purchase bicycles for staff who wish to cycle to work
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve on these principles
- Confidential paper waste is collected for shredding (in accordance with the Data Protection Act)
- Photocopying is only used where necessary and double sided copying is used where possible
- Computer screens are powered down when not in use and all screens switched off at close of business
- Our offices have automatic energy saving lighting systems which turn off if no activity for 10 minutes
- We have Carbon Trust posters displayed in the office kitchen and corridors
- Unwanted IT equipment is recycled or disposed of in an environmentally sensitive way
- The office layout has been designed to maximize natural light
This environmental policy is the responsibility of every Purple Market Research employee through training and implementation.
